What do you mean?

Metranet is the Loose Connection guys operating a wireless provider as a competitor for fixed links, using a non-wifi technology for the wireless.

Yes, it looks like they are using 802.16d (fixed WiMAX version). But it will be more interesting when mobile version of WiMAX (802.16e) will be out.
